Influencer Torched For Implicating Herself Stealing Money From A Busted Armored Truck

When people say, “Don’t put your whole life online,” this is what they’re talking about. An armored car full of hundred dollar bills started squirting out its content on Friday, right in the middle of the freeway in San Diego. Motorists began pulling over to scoop up those dollars and it was quite a scene. I’m sure it would be hard to resist filming a scenario like that, but it’s unfortunately true that taking money falling out of a car is still stealing and you should try to keep your face out of it.

Instagram fitness influencer Demi Bagby did not, and shared videos of herself and some friends taking full advantage the situation, paying homage to the god of chaos.

“This is the most insane thing I’ve ever seen. Someone dropped money all over the freeway – San Diego has shut down. Literally, it has shut down, look at the freeway right now, oh my gosh,” she yells in the clip.

Bagby is getting a lot of support from her followers for her opportunism, and frankly, I completely understand. I would also have stopped to steal loose cash from an anonymous car (for legal purposes, this is a joke), but I would have had the sense to put a paper bag over my head and put my camera away.

At a press conference, a news report by the Times Now says CHP Sergeant Martin told reporters, “Several videos uploaded online showed people picking up the spilled cash from the freeway. CHP is currently working with the FBI on the case, the driver of the armored truck tried to recover some cash from the lanes. There is a lot of video evidence of people picking up the cash, so we are going to be following up on every lead that we have. While many left the place with cash in their clothes and pockets, some returned the money to the CHP. We did arrest two suspects on the scene.”

Neither of those suspects were Bagby, but I’m betting they’ve gotten some tips about her. On Twitter, folks are not being so kind about her choices:

Considering Bagby’s post is still up, maybe the feds haven’t come knocking just yet.
