It’s a luxury to order food from an online delivery service, and the people bringing your food are hustling hard in a pandemic, trying to stay healthy and pay rent. And yet, people absolutely lose their minds if something goes wrong with a delivery order. They must be hangry!
Twitter user @cjbarton2290 posted that their sister, in the U.K., ordered McDonald's from a site called Just Eat.
The driver canceled the order, and then their sister supposedly caught them on camera eating the order in the parking lot:
They've since deleted the original video tweet, but it's on YouTube:
Honestly...I don't know that this video shows anything that can be confirmed as food acquisition. It looks like maybe there's a delivery bag on the ground by that car, but it's hard to clearly see what the guy is doing, let alone if he's eating McDonald's.
There were also a lot of people who thought that the whole situation wasn't that big a deal and they shouldn't have put the guy on blast:
The company seems to have taken the accusation seriously, and Men's Humor shared their statement:
"At Just Eat we’re committed to providing a positive experience for all of our customers. When we become aware of any practices that fall below the high standards we expect, we will always take steps to address this. As such, we were concerned to hear about this incident. We are investigating, will take action as appropriate and are also in contact with the customer."
There were of course people who didn't believe it really happened, but the original poster had the literal receipts:
This whole story confirms what I already knew: ordering McDonald's for delivery is always a huge mistake.
