When you think of the kind of pets that often roam a workplace, a rooster isn’t one that comes to mind. That’s because you haven’t heard of R&R Garage yet.
Based in North Carolina, R&R Garage had an interesting visitor one day in 2018. An abandoned rooster just showed up and decided he didn’t want to leave. (Garage employees gave him some food, so there’s a high possibility he said ‘hell yeah, free food!’ and just stuck around.)

At night, he sleeps in a nearby tree. In the morning, he’s up bright and early — as roosters do — to greet the employees and customers as they come in.
The R&R Garage employees and owners recognized their new “employee” wasn’t going away anytime soon, so they named him Earl.
At the garage, Earl has a very important job: eat the bugs.
He struts around the garage, looking in every crevice for snacks. The garage benefits from Earl’s snacking and Earl has a happy stomach.

Throughout the day, Earl will walk around the garage and check out what the employees are doing. Often, he will take a nap next to someone working on a car.
As customers got to know Earl, he became quite a big deal in Powells Point, NC. People will stop by just to say hello to Earl and R&R Garage recently created a special Earl logo and tee.
Roosters aren’t the only animals getting jobs in the traditional workplace. This dog in Brazil kept showing up at a Hyundai dealership and now he has a job and his own badge. A star employee, the dog named Tuscan Brown won customers over and – prior to his adoption – was promoted to “official mascot” and will be in a Hyundai campaign.
If you ask us, we’re not opposed to seeing animals at every business.
