Dying Dog Gets One Last Snow Day Thanks To Park Staff

When Maggie was a few days away from losing her battle with cancer, her family made a public request on social media to borrow the ice machine of anyone local to them, if anyone would lend one.

They explained how much Maggie had always loved playing in the snow, and said they wanted to be able to give her one more day of that before she had to leave.

Salt Lake County Parks & Rec staff reached out to help. They shaved extra ice and delivered it to the family, helping make Maggie’s last day very special. (Shut up, you’re crying.)

The family was even able to take video of Maggie sitting atop a small mountain of snow, chomping happily away at it as she played with a tennis ball.

Someone on the internet made a watercolor of Maggie, based on the video.

If you’re not getting a little choked up by now, well, this is actually the new version of The Psychopath Test now, so, congratulations, you’ve failed.

Two things quickly became clear after the story went viral: Twitter loves Maggie, and Twitter loves Parks & Recs Departments, especially that of Salt Lake County, Utah.
