A mother’s story of how her dog may have unexpectedly saved her baby’s life is prompting others to share stories of their own heroic pets.
Earlier this month, Kelly Andrew (@KayAyDrew) shared her frustrations with her dog, Henry, who she said “keeps pushing open the baby’s door with his battering ram head so he can sniff at her.”
But it turns out, Henry was doing more than just being nosy.
“Last night the dog kept breaking into the nursery and waking the baby. She’s been sick, and I was getting so fed up with him,” Kelly wrote. “Until she stopped breathing. We spent the night in the hospital. I don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t woken her. We don’t deserve dogs.”
Every animal lover has heard stories over the years of dogs or even cats saving the day in unexpected ways, often mysteriously knowing something is wrong before their humans do, or sometimes just being so brave and determined in the face of something terrifying.
