Gavin is basically a superhero. The 14-year-old noticed a cat being thrown out of a car window and jumped out to rescue it.
Gavin’s mom Erin Brown was driving Gavin to a birthday party when both of them saw the cat thrown out a car window. She screamed and stopped the car while Gavin climbed out.
“Not sure which I’m in more shock of, the cat being thrown out a window of a moving vehicle on 196 or my son flying out of my car onto the highway and diving into an overpass to rescue a cat,” Brown told Love Meow.
The cat hit the pavement and immediately jumped on top of the overpass. Gavin was able to grab the cat before anything could hurt it.
The cat cuddled right up to its hero and was pretty banged up after a traumatizing experience. According to Brown, Gavin instantly bonded with the cat, which they named Lucky.

The two immediately drove Lucky to the vet to get his wounds taken care of. After Brown posted the experience on Facebook, someone offered to donate money toward Lucky’s vet bills.
The family adopted Lucky, and Brown says the bond he has with Gavin is beyond description.
